Mitsuru 5th day

We picked her up on Saturday and took her to vet. She got her stitches taken out and the bloods done. She went mental when they tried. Well, they took her away and all we heard is meowing like she was bieng killed. Mitsuru has a clean bill of health. The vet suggested that if we took Mitsuru home with us to give both cats revolution (selamectin topical solution) to protect them from flea, intestine and heart worms and earmites. We also got a cleaning solution which needs to be applied every second day for Mitsuru. She doesn't like it very much! She gets very scared and becomes timid for a while. I have to stop so I won't make her afraid.

Carly is being such a mooch, she keeps eating Mitusuru's food! Oh and let's not forget she is also the aggressor! Mitsuru passes alot of her time under the couch. And now with all the bedroom furniture in the livingroom it's harder to keep track of her. As she flies underneath the couch every time she hears a noise that scares her.

Yesterday, called the vet clinic to give the rest of the phone numbers of all the vet clinics that the cats have been to. I want all the files to go there. It will take a few days and then once they get all the files they will fax all the information from thier history records to the pet insurance company. They both have been insured in the Quick Gold Policy (100% Coverage Monthly Premium).

Today was sort of a good thing as they came pretty close to each other. B-G saw them, too bad he didn't have a camera for the action packed meeting!

maybe a new kitty

Carly's been great! she loves to sleep... She's so funny! I have been some what wondering of getting another cat. Which happened to come to my attention a few weeks ago.

The kitty 'Sweetie' is from the hair dresser. Which I have renamed her 'Mitusru' and found out today that it's a males name by my language exchange friend. The hair dresser had been given the cat by a young woman who found her in a box. I had told her that if no one took her to keep me in mind. Mitsuru is a really loveable cat. She loves attention. Two things B-G doesn't like is that she has really long hair which sheds and she meows alot. We will see on that front!

I have already taken her to the vet and she has been treated for earmites and has been given deworm medicine and 2 vaccines. She will be going to the vet again on Saturday to get her stitches out and get blood test done. She has been left at the hair dressers as I don't want Carly to get infected with anything.

Maybe another cat will make Carly more happy.

the day...

Carly came out of her bedroom at 10.29am... Asking for food, no surprise there. She is being switched to the low fat Eagle brand kitty food.

She has gained weight, it's our fault as we tend to give her human food sometimes. It's really hard to say no to her but the vet has told her not to give her any human food. As it's not good for them.

I tend to give her cheetos which she loves and when I told the vet. She sorta laughed and then turned to me a bit seriously and said if you wish your cat to be obessed then keep feeding her empty calories. You are doing more harm then good to her.

Now the consequences are showing on poor Carly. She looks a bit fat and now that she has gotten shaved her skin is like hanging! Kind of like a Shar-Pei. We tend to laugh at her and well she sorta is shy around us now. She seems a bit upset at us.

Her attitude of when she got her first shave is way different. She was so assertive and came to us and kept meowing. It was like someone else had taken possession of our kitty. We loved it.

Now she is not doing that? I wonder. Is it because she has gained weight and we have sorta laughed at her? The groomer told us not to laugh or say mean things about her being shaved and all that. As cats tend to feel the emotions that you are giving out, like a 6th sense that they have. Maybe she's feeling those vibes? Poor baby!

We are trying to stop giving out those emotions and keep encouraging her and giving her compliments as to not get her depressed or anything like that. But B-G, sometimes laughs at her and I try to encourage him not to! He's like 'she knows we love her! It's just that she looks so wrinkly, its funny, tell me its not funny, cuz I know you know that it is!'

Ok so it is but still...

the ride...

Carly loves to ride in the car. She is put on a red pretty leach which has a harness, so not to choke the poor thing if I would have to pull her a bit. Not like I would but you never know with her. Took a 20 min. ride to go see M which was fun! Carly was going batty over the lights, as she always does at night. She stares at everything as if she wanted to go up to it and smell it or hunt it down. I seem to think she has a really adventurous nature. We do not let her go out on to the streets. She will always be an indoor cat. For crying out loud she gets scared when the garbage, recycling and sidwalk cleaning trucks pass by our house. She tends to run to her bed and hide. Once gone she comes out like nothing happened and she's back to being the mischievous little kitty she is!

She loves to roam the car but I don't let her go in the back alone. As B-G tends to break a bit hard and well she kinda is only 6 lbs. She will fly, literally! Which she did yesteday! She had her back to me an was holding to the dashboard, when all of a sudden B-G breaked. Carly flew in between my lap head first. She was momentarily dazed. For a second, I thought she had hurt herself but a sigh of relief came over me when she got back to her position. I started to say to B-G that I thought she's having a spasm of some kind because she kept moving her head back and forth but he just said to me that it wasnt the case that she kept looking at the street lights passing by. That was why she looked like she was having spasm! I started to laugh. Carly just looked at me like WTF are you trying to do, ruin my outing! I kept quiet and just looked out the window with her.

People are so curious when they see Carly in the car! They sorta start to laugh but hey she loves it! And at odd times, which is rare, she meows to as to say Hi! Crazy cute...

adopted...

Carly was adopted on November 27, 2004 with a fee of $95.00. It was a Saturday afternoon... She was in a huge cage with 2 other cats, sleeping as always. She was handed to me by Daniele the owner of Animal Rescue Network. They were having one of many adopting program at Maxine and Bailey shop, where we also buy Carly's Eagle Pack food.

At the time she was 6 months old and had been vaccinated and dewormed. On December 12, 2004, she got spayed and given her booster shot Eclipse 4. We also got her pet insurance plan (Dec. 5, 2005) for when or if she gets sick or hurt.

At times fearful. As it was explain to us. She had been abused and left to die in a plastic bag with her siblings. For the first weekshe was hiding under everything in the house: bed, couch, table, desk, between the venitian blinds, behind the toilet... We were patient and even called the shelter owner to find out exactly what had happened to her. And she told me that a stranger had seen a black plastic bag moving in the water. She went to see what it was and it was Carly with 2 of her siblings shivering. I was so sad... B-g was not really liking her at the begining and wanted to returned her. He even convinced me but I tried to say lets give her another chance. And we did, she came out of her shell and was really happy from then on...

Carly's been taken to the vet twice... The 1st time was to get a physical for her insurance policy. As it was requested and she didn't have a medical history. We got her tested for kitty-AIDS and got the necessary vaccinations given to her. On her next visit at 7pm, she got vaccinated for rabbies, as she had bitten me that afternoon. We also want to take her to the US during the christmas holidays. The Canadian policy for cats entering Canada is that they need to have their rabbies shots and some sort of certificate stipulating she has had all her shots and a physical exam done in the year she's travelling. My brother is coming for the holidays from Japan, 25 days if I'm not mistaken!

Carly's third visit to the Vet. is in December 9th, 2005. She's going to get a vaccination which is required to be done around the time of her travel. Perfect timing!

2nd Shave...

It was a rainy day! Carly doesn't like to be in her carrier as she tends to meow a little. Thank goodness though she meows really low. Not like some cats I hear outside at times. She was going for her 2nd trim! We left her at the groomers, as B-G had some errands to do. We went to pick her up 2hrs later which I was a bit upset! Two hours at the groomer was not good, that was my thoughts! She looks so cute, with her lion head and tip of her tail fluffy! Heee... The groomer had another kitty there which she said was a stray. I looked at B-G, with eyes that said I want it. I told her if she had anyone that would be willing to take care. She told me she had been looking. She has had her for 2weeks and was waiting on results to see if she was pregnant as her teets are swollen. I think she is. I told her that I was interested in the kitty and asked her to call me the minute she found out. She has found homes for the kittens to be, if she is. But no one wanted her as it's always hard to place a grown cat. She is so cute, doesn't have a name as it was better if the people who wanted her would name her, that is what the groomer told me. I told her that Carly is very well taken care of! Eats pretty expensive food, the litter also cost a pretty penny, she has pet insurance and she goes to the vet every 2-3 months. So, if she gave her to me I would truly take care of her! B-G is like more cat hair! Heee...

I think it would be good for Carly to have another cat friend/sis/bro around her! She may learn to be less scared of the trucks. We'll see...
